We believe that children and young people in Falmouth and Penryn should be able to cycle to school.
As well as reducing the level of traffic cycling provides exercise, helping children meet NHS physical activity guidelines and are overall healthier. Although many children usually walk to school, statistics show that over a third are driven and very few cycle (less than 3%). Feedback from local schools suggests that the main obstacle to pupils cycling to school and college is lack of safe cycling infrastructure.
